MARTHA STEWART LIVING OMNIMEDIA, NEW YORK CITY
ART DIRECTION /GRAPHIC DESIGN

I loved working for Martha Stewart. I loved it so much that when we needed to live in Connecticut,  I commuted 6 hours per day to Manhattan and still got in early and left late. When faced with a commute like that, you quickly realize just how important it is to love what you do. In this role, I reported to the Senior Art Director, SVP of Merchandising, and the Boss Lady, herself. I was responsible for creating new and unique packaging, print, in-store environments and presentation design concepts. Based on research, collaboration and critique, I executed fresh solutions in order to elevate an already credible brand, and was able to see them through from start to finish. In addition to Martha Stewart, I worked on several partner brands including Emeril Lagasse, Macy’s, and JC Penney, and have contributed original concepts for various partnerships and launches. I worked independently as well as in collaboration with my SVP and Senior Art Director, and managed my own workflow to meet both long and short-term deadlines. Because of the consumer-driven nature of these projects, I took— and continue to take— a specific interest in researching competitor brands and current consumer trends, which has greatly enriched both my process and my work.
